Challenge

The end customer used Office 365 for corporate email, credential storage, and device management alongside Salesforce Sales Cloud for sales operations. Users had to maintain separate login credentials for each system, creating workflow inefficiencies, security risks from password fatigue, and significant inconvenience across daily operations.

Solution

Engineering Square implemented single sign-on (SSO) by integrating Salesforce with Azure Active Directory. The implementation involved registering the Salesforce solution in Azure AD and creating authentication certificates for encrypted security token transfer, registering SSO users in Azure AD with appropriate permission settings, and replicating certificate creation and user registration within Salesforce to complete the trust relationship between both platforms.
