A nationwide telecommunications service provider used Salesforce Sales Cloud for sales activities and SharePoint Online for document management including contracts, orders, and proposals, plus marketing content. Staff experienced hampered document management workflows from working across two separate systems, with inefficient client communication regarding document and content sharing.

Solution

Engineering Square developed a custom Salesforce application using the Lightning Component framework that integrated with SharePoint Online. The application featured file search and upload capabilities between systems, on-the-fly synchronization with SharePoint, file preview and download functionality, document linking to Account, Contact, and Opportunity records, email sharing of SharePoint links to contacts, single sign-on via Salesforce SAML and Azure AD, and user-configurable settings with documentation.
