A nationwide telecommunications service provider used Salesforce Sales Cloud for sales activities and SharePoint Online for document management — contracts, orders, proposals — and marketing content. Staff experienced hampered document management workflows from working across two separate systems, with inefficient client communication regarding document and content sharing.
Solution
Engineering Square developed a custom Salesforce application using the Lightning Component framework that integrated with SharePoint Online. The application featured file search and upload capabilities between systems, on-the-fly synchronization with SharePoint, file preview and download functionality, document linking to Account, Contact, and Opportunity records, email sharing of SharePoint links to contacts, single sign-on via Salesforce SAML and Azure AD, and user-configurable settings with documentation.
